Founder
Amanda Borden started Bowery Projects to work with non-profits and start-up organizations in the areas of strategy, talent, DEIB, operations and finance. In 2016, she co-founded School Leader Lab serving as Co-Head/Strategy and Operations, and then Executive Director of School Leader Lab. Prior to School Leader Lab, Amanda was part of the senior leadership team overseeing external affairs, talent and data teams, partnerships, and strategic projects for the largest charter network in DC. Amanda came to KIPP DC from Success Academy Charter Schools in New York, where she led strategic initiatives and the instructional development team through the early growth of the network. Amanda has tutored, advised, substitute taught and supported PK-12 schools since high school.
Before moving to public education full-time, she worked in strategy, innovation and brand management for Diageo. She started her career in strategy consulting and investment banking. Amanda graduated from Washington University, holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Education Leadership from the Broad Residency in Urban Education. Amanda is proudest to be the parent of two spunky and curious kiddos with her husband in Washington, DC.
